What is the best camera to take detailed pictures of clothing?

January 26th, 2010 | by admin |

I need a camera to take pictures of clothing for my website. I need a really good camera that will show small detail and will take clear life like pictures of the clothes. I do not know where to start, i have read reviews but dont know what all the jargon means as i know nothing about cameras. I have a £500 budget. i was looking at canon SLR cameras? Any advice appreciated.

It’s actually almost 100% down to the lighting and the model. If you use the right lighting and have a good model you can make bad clothes look good.

Find a place where you can hang a large white sheet up and has a large south facing window and you’re more than halfway there. Then get yourself a simple SLR, something like a 400D is more than enough and a 50mm f1.8 lens, you may also need a 30mm f2 lens and learn how to use the camera in Av and M modes. You should shoot around f2.8 to get the right depth of field, you also will need to shoot during the day.

Quite a lot of SLR cameras are around £300. So type it into google and see what you come up with. I recommend Canon. Ones with high mpx will have better quality photos. Ones around 13mpx will be very good.
