yes. but trying to imagine what that crop is going to look like, and then actually cropping it (whilst wasting space on your card for all the extra image you won’t need) as well as not being able to use a DX lens if you need to, is a bit of a pain in the arse.
Then again if you’re spending £4000 why would you bother with APS?

Got mine in the post this morning. I havn’t had chance to test it in the field yet but I’ve been messing about in doors and the low light shots are fantastic!!! If they ever manage to improve on this we wont be needing flashguns anymore lol. Awesome camera!

If you have a 300mm lens on the camera, why would you turn the APS mode on to get a ‘450mm’ lens? couldn’t you just crop the image from full frame?

rose4usagi….thanks….it happened loads of times and I thought oh no…I’ve got a rogue camera here…especially as the 35-70 zoom lens WAS faulty and had to go back….but you are RIGHT…it WAS the bottom shutter………..

have you checked the bottom shutter button? IT was my problem for a week, I couldn’t understand why it takes photo by itself. then I notice that the bottom shutter button is activated as well.

unless you are planning to print those pictures the size of your livinroom wall anything over 12mp will do the job, 24mp are intended for fashion and anything that will be retouched and printed in comercial way

no, if you put it to 12 mp size, that means that youre only using about half the sensor, it just turns off the rest of them.
