    the t1i shoots …
the t1i shoots cleaner video than the d5000. it shoots in 30fps but you can easily just convert to 24fps in your video editor.

    they’re both …
they’re both similar but it depends on whether you prefer nikon or canon- both have pro’s and con’s. for a proper comparison, try going to a camera shop and ask for assistance, thats what i did today and it really helped :)

    I have the Alpha …
I have the Alpha 900 with couple of f/2.8 lenses, but I find it very clunky, so I end up taking out my Olympus more ofthen than the Sony. Also, I’d very much prefer that the Sony left Minolta name on their photo products. Sony has no tradition in making optics etc. Anyway, if I was sponsored by Canon, I’d have no issue using their equipment. But for my own money, I look elsewhere. I am not feeling like pumping money in an already big corporation like Canon.

    I’d take any …
I’d take any Olympus or Pentax over the Rebel any time. Canon cameras start from EOS20D and up. Rebel is not worth Canon name, it’s quite flimsily put together. But if you know nothing about SLR’s, you should probably get the Rebel. Same like Toyota Camry or Honda Accords, you can’t go wrong ’cause everyone has it, so it’s safe to own it. As for me, I am still enjoying my 3+ year old Olympus E-500. This camera’s feature set is simply mind blowing. And the owner’s manual is excellent.

    Any SLR camera is …
Any SLR camera is good in bad lighting conditions, you just gotta play around with your aperture and iso and such. Personally, I prefer the t1i. If you dont know about aperture or iso, google it. It’s all very simple.

    Okay, Well, Im in …
Okay, Well, Im in highschool and im in yearbook ,and we use mostly canon rebel xs. They are GREAT cameras for begginers, they come with a 18-55 mm kit lens. What that basically means is, its basically like a camera with a zoom of x1 or x2. I just bought a Zoom lens aswell, and it cost 270$ at futureshop. The higher the number, the more it zooms. My zoom is a 75-300mm, and its great. Thats like the equivalent of a …. 18x zoom? :) Hope that helped.. —–

    Yes you can, as …
Yes you can, as with any DSLR, since you have to manually turn the zoom ring on the lens with your hand. It isn’t motorised as with a compact.

Do you guys shoot at 20 FPS? Because the video doesn’t seem very smooth, though it’s very sharp and colorful.

does the sensor in the camera heat up after prolonged video sessions and does it degrade the picture quality over time because of constant use of the video mode?
